SUB: Invitation for Nomination for SCOPE Meritorious Awards
in Specialized Fields – 2008-09
SCOPE is initiating the process of inviting nominations for SCOPE Meritorious Awards in Specialized Fields – 2008-09 so that the excellence achieved/contributions made by various PSEs in different fields could be encouraged, recognized and rewarded.
SCOPE Meritorious Awards are presented in the following seven fields:-
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Environmental Excellence & Sustainable Development
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Good Corporate Governance
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Corporate Social Responsibility & Responsiveness
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for R&D, Technology Development & Innovation
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Best Practices in Human Resources Management
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Best Managed Bank, Financial Institution or Insurance Company
:: SCOPE Meritorious Award for Best Managed PSE set up Under Section 25
These are corporate level awards and not for a unit. Hence only one entry should be sent by each PSE after compiling information of all the units.
Only member enterprises who are not in arrears in respect of SCOPE Annual Contribution towards Membership of SCOPE are eligible for nominations.
Member enterprises may send their entries by filling up the enclosed proformae in duplicate along with soft copy and other information/documents necessary to substantiate their excellence. Last date for receipt of entries is Monday, the 15th February 2010. Nominations received after that shall not be considered.
Please note that these SCOPE Meritorious Awards 2008-09 are proposed to be presented by the Chief Guest during a Special Award Ceremony coinciding with the Public Sector Day on 10th April 2010, it may not be possible to extend the last date for receiving the nominations.
In order to partially meet the expenses an entry fee of Rs. 10,000/- would be charged per entry per award. Please ensure to send the entry fee along with the nomination.
It may be noted that the SCOPE Executive Board has accepted the suggestion of the Panel of Judges for SCOPE Meritorious Awards in Specialized Fields that an award winning PSE should not be considered for the same category of award for the next three years. However, it appreciated the keenness for participation of award winning companies and decided that PSEs which had won award during the last 3 years and have again been ranked first or have been ranked very close to the first ranked enterprise might be considered for Commendation Certificate as a special case.
Justice P.N. Bhagwati is the Chairman of the Panel of Judges for SCOPE Meritorious Awards in Specialized Fields while International Management Institute (IMI) is the evaluating agency responsible to assist the Panel of Judges.
