Notwithstanding the oft misunderstood assessment of its role, it is the talented men and women employed by the public sector over the years, who have with their dedicated service and innovative managerial skills in difficult circumstances, have helped to nourish the modern Indian economy. GENERAL:
The award shall be presented annually, on a suitable date to be announced well in advance.
The award is conceptualized as the most prestigious and outstanding recognition of public sector and, therefore, would be suitably combined with activities to invite proper attention. It is proposed that either the President, Vice President or the Prime Minister of the country, as available, would be invited to present this award.
For institution of these awards, a separate corpus has been created with contributions from PSEs. The corpus is operated by SCOPE. Contributions to the corpus would be welcome as SCOPE intends to institute more awards in various specific areas.
